In this role, you will be expected coordinate, liaise and partner with design and product to identify and prioritize research needs and outcomes. You’ ll work with internal and external groups and primary stakeholders to drive product excellence.

Job Duties: 
  • You create a strong design point of view, backed-up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data and industry trends
  • Identify research gaps, distill findings from all research, develop research plans for quantitative or mixed quantitative/qualitative research into user behaviors
  • You leverage insights to ensure that all product design decisions do indeed benefit the user
  • You’ ll work closely with project team members to propose digital solutions for the business partner’ s anticipated needs, gaps and goals
  • You will help define and communicate the scope of all current and future research projects
  • You’ ll also make recommendations on process improvement, and work cross-functionally to implement improvements overall to successfully impact team effectiveness and quality of deliverables
  • Other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned

  • Define and measure quantitative UX goals and metrics in collaboration with Designers, Qualitative Researchers, Engineers, and Program Managers
  • Examine existing data and product designs to generate hypotheses and plans for high-impact research
  • Participate in an agile team structure, be familiar with scrum ceremonies, backlog story writing and planning with a product design team
  • You frame, organize and communicate your work with others, and are able to explain rationale for research decisions within a larger context both up and down the management and team structure effectively and concisely
  • You are the voice of the user, and are an expert in user expectations, behaviors, needs and motivations through methodical and investigative approaches
  • You will moderate 1: 1 and group panels, and will document, compile, synthesize and communicate research finding and next-step actions to inform and impact decision-making process
  • You provide an overarching UX perspective on quantitative data that provides insight to stakeholders into their users
  • Understanding, identifying and quantifying problems and to drive new research areas is just one of your many talents that you will tap into. You create rigor around ethical research to develop products that fulfill user’ s needs even beyond expectations

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor' s Degree in Research or social sciences degree (Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology) is required. Masters in HCI  or a related field is a plus
  • 5+ years of UX or user-research for digital products, including web and mobile
  • Well-versed with scrum ceremonies, experienced backlog story writing and documented sprint planning with a product team design team is required
  • Proficiency in a variety of user research techniques and reports is required
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Superior presentation skills a plus
  • Expertise in data visualization techniques and tools
  • Demonstrated record of superior command of research questions within a given domain, and the accompanying technical tools for data analysis within that field
  • Practical experience in research communication to technical and non-technical audiences is desired
  • Deep interest in new research trends and tools
  • Persistent and diligent attention to detail, while maintaining overall understanding of projects; ability to balance and synthesize quantitative data and qualitative feedback
  • Testing to potentially include ride along' s with sales teams to gain insights
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet tools, including Web browsers, project management systems, and Adobe Suite
