Our client is expanding its world-class software development centers in Seattle and New York. They are looking for a UX-focused writer to join our Experience Design team, working on app development, Customer Support systems, and internal communications. They need someone with great writing skills, deep user empathy, and proven ability to work within a highly collaborative, agile software development process. 

  Overall Summary 

  As a User Experience (UX) Writer, you shape customer experiences by authoring useful, meaningful text that helps users complete tasks within our streaming products and customer support channels. Just as importantly, you help unify and shepherd the company voice  as it comes to life through both product and customer communications, through a variety of media. Able to balance consistency with the special needs of unique platforms and customer journeys, you actively partner with our development teams and other organizations (i.e., Digital and Social-Media Marketing) to uphold our brand principles while working on behalf of customers. Your portfolio showcases writing that simplifies and strengthens user experiences, with demonstrable process of collaboration. 

Responsibilities • Active and positive partnership with teams, including UX design & research, product management, engineering, marketing, and customer support, on a variety of UX design-related initiatives. • Collaborate with other stakeholders to create consistent language and a unified voice across products and platforms. • Use empathy, user insight, and hard data to inform written content choices. • Create and maintain documentation that catalogs content, voice, tonality, and considerations, for consumption by other stakeholders, internal and external to the company. This includes internal development teams and organizations such as Digital and Social-Media Marketing, and Customer Support vendors and their representatives. • Demonstrate “ master-level” understanding of  digital products, bringing your discipline’ s recommendations for improvement to the fore. • Accountable for all voice in the streaming product (both written and oral); responsible for achieving and maintaining high standards of content quality. • Understand theoretical and practical concepts of HCI, especially as related to written and oral best practices. • Capable of direction and mentorship of others to accomplish the above. 
Education and Experience • Bachelor’ s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Communications, English, or a related field. • Minimum 3-5 years in UX Writing, Customer Support, UX Design, or related fields. • Candidate should have deep industry experience with software development practices and principles, including Agile methodology and frameworks. • Experienced working with Markdown, JavaScript, differencing tools, and string tables. • Localization experience a plus.
