Sr Technical PM/Business Analyst – Omni Channel Retail

 

The Omni Channel Business Analyst will provide direction, guidance and judgment on new project initiatives across our multi channel selling environment focused on being a liaison between Direct Operations, Brand Creative, Merchandising and Planning, and IT for new initiatives in support of our customer facing ecommerce systems. The position requires a strong understanding of ecommerce site usability and design and a solid technical understanding of digital customer interfaces.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 
  • Assists business partners in identifying and prioritizing new capabilities
  • Identifies system, process, and organizational strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement
  • Defines and documents project scope, business requirements, software specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
  • Assists the Product Owner, Scrummaster, and scrum team in thoroughly defining and prioritizing stories for sprint planning including owning acceptance criteria throughout delivery
  • Defines business Use Cases and associated high level test scenarios
  • Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for new capabilities
  • Identify, define and deliver user training
  • Monitor and understand leading practices and industry trends and make recommendations to business partners as appropriate
  • Work with business partners to define the vision for future state capabilities (processes/technology/organization)

 

Technical Recommendation and Testing

 
  • Works with business partners to identify and manage required changes
  • Communicates needed changes to development team
  • Assists in the creation of project estimates
  • Participates in QA testing efforts, including acceptance criteria creation
  • Leads User Acceptance Testing efforts

 

Project Execution

 
  • Work with business and IT leadership to develop the strategy to achieve the vision / lead Agile “ Phase 0” exploration for initiatives
  • Assists PMs in management of project deadlines and schedules
  • Owns flow docs, current state / future state documentation

 

Communication

 
  • Communicates effectively and at the right level based on the audience
  • Leads project team and business requirement/scoping meetings
  • Delivers informative, well-organized scope documents and business requirements
  • Understands how to communicate effectively with both business partners and the development team
  • Organizes meetings and deliverables to make the most efficient use of business partner and development team members’ time

  • Identifies and addresses critical issues with ease

Education and Experience:
  • Hands on experience in Direct user experience analysis, design, development projects
  • Experience identifying site usability opportunities and coordinating creative, IT and operational teams in defining opportunities
  • Successful track record in project delivery and benefits realization
  • Experience with Agile Delivery Methodology
  • Experience in JIRA or other workflow tools
  • +1 years experience in multi-channel business analysis or product management roles
  • +2 years working for a Retail Apparel company
  • Fine arts background a plus
  • Business Analyst Certifications a plus
  • Experience developing and/or support IT Strategic Planning
  • Experience with eCommerce or POS initiative development
  • Ecommerce operational experience (website publishes)
  • Experience managing Creative and IT personnel in successful project delivery
  • Experience researching market trends, best practices and competitive analysis in online experience
  • Experience with Agile Delivery Methodology
  • Experience in JIRA or other workflow tools
