Job Title: Marketing Data Scientist

The Marketing Data Scientist  will work  closely with all teams throughtout the comapny  to align on business objectives, develop key performance indicators (KPIs) in crucial business areas, and provide ongoing analysis and insights to devise and/or enhance strategies and plans to optimize all marketing activities. 

The primary goal of the Marketing Data Scientist  will be to provide insights into marketing campaigns, customer segmentation, and identify market trends to aid the strategy & planning team to create successful marketing programs with an eye on increased market share and profitable, sustained growth.


KPI Strategy & Reporting
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources
  • Develop and maintain marketing dashboards across five business units and work with Strategy leads to publish monthly, quarterly and annual reports that help develop business, sales and marketing strategies, budgets and go-to-market plans

  • Analyze sales funnels and loyalty acquisition across our digital ecosystem
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing programs and strategies; and recommend areas for optimization
  • Measure and report on web performance across B2B and DTC brand sites, working with the Director of Digital Products and Director of Digital Marketing to identify benchmarks and recommend optimization of these platforms

Forecasting & Projections
  • Develop strong partnerships with the Strategy & Planning team to optimize marketing plans and tactics, based on insights and trends
  • Manage marketing channel forecasting in relation to FP&A

  • Conduct primary and secondary research to develop better customer data— demographics, preferences, needs and buying habits— for segmentation and consumer profiling

  • Conduct competitive research and analyze benchmarking data and develop recommendations on the results
  • Evaluate methods for collecting data and devise plans for optimizing and augmenting

  • 6+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present your ideas in an organized and coherent manner
  • Gather  marketing data, provided insights and build  predictive models that increase  the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make  strategic recommendations to optimize marketing spend, business processes and maximize profitability
  • Self-starter and a problem-solver, eager for keeping busy and engaged has a proactive spirit
  • Strong experience in data architecture including:
    • Data layer (ability to query and pull data)
    • Logic layer (ability to create business rules with the data)
    • Presentation layer (ability to display the data in dashboards, charts, and graphs)
  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft Power BI
    • Microsoft Azure Services is a plus
    • IBM Cognos
    • Database technologies (i.e. SQL)
  • Proven experience analyzing and reporting on:
    • e-Commerce sales
    • Website analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, HotJar)
    • Digital Ad analytics (e.g. Google Ads)
    • Native social analytics (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn)
  • Experience with segmentation/profiling background (simmons, MRI, etc.)
  • Experience with R/Python for data modeling
  • Microsoft Excel power user skills, such as macro and pivot table creation
