Carrier Specialist/Wholesale located in NYC 

 

Summary

The Circuit Provisioning Specialist is responsible for initiating and tracking all orders for circuits, lines, porting and any other associated service(s).

Essential Functions
  • Initiates  and tracks  all orders for new voice and data circuits and lines
  • Works  directly with finance and legal to ensure accuracy of all applicable contracts, service agreements and rate decks associated with the services ordered
  • Attends  kick-off meetings to review all new opportunities in order to meet customer requirements
  • Obtains  price quotes from carriers. Coordinates  with Sales, Project Managers, and engineers to obtain information necessary to proceed with the order processing for all applicable services. This includes but not limited to ISDN services, digital, copper, DSL, fiber/optical, and SIP/VOIP circuits
  • Coordinates  implementation for orders on all services pertaining to adds, moves, deletions  and change to existing services
  • Utilizes  various vendor portals used to attain quotes and initial orders.  This includes expertise in processing detailed ASR (Access Services Request by product) and LSR’ s for submission with the local exchange carrier and  tracks FOCs
  • Tracks  and obtains  service order completions notices. Informs  Sales and Project Manager of all updates received. Handles  escalations in order to meet client requirements on all orders submitted
  • Organizes, coordinates  and schedules  customer activations with field-ops and engineers. Tracks  orders and organizes, coordinates  and schedules  testing and turn-up as needed to provide customer activation
  • Coordinates  with client’ s carriers to issue orders on client’ s behalf as required. Coordinates  the transfer of ownership of DID’ s by gathering accurate information in order to process win-back and porting orders.
  • Attends  weekly project meetings to address all pending client activity
  • Works  closely with business analysis group to identify  and reduce excess circuit cost

 

Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’ s degree or equivalent
  • 4 years of experience in circuit provisioning
  • Must have knowledge of current telecom/technology products and services
  • Have experience working with carriers (ILEC/CLEC) at wholesale level
  • Must be proficient in MS excel, word, adobe and  visio (desired)
  • Have experience working with carrier (ILEC/CLEC) ordering platforms and portals
