JBC is partnering  with a unique communications firm that takes a personal approach to media relations while leveraging new media to build buzz among consumers and influencers alike.  The Account Supervisor will deliver increase visibility + earned media impressions for startup clients and established brands in technology, entertainment and culture. The ideal candidate is creative and strategic, capable of securing tier-one press results and developing viral campaigns. This is a leadership role that will contribute to development of junior team members.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver long-term and monthly PR strategies that achieve client approval
  • Understand client goals & creative to achieve coverage beyond seasonal/product angles
  • Delegate & collaborate with supporting team members to ensure timeliness and total satisfaction for client
  • Deliver internal & client-facing insights (quantitative and qualitative) acknowledging impact, big wins, lessons learned, etc.
  • Oversee junior team members producing campaign recaps, activity reports, case studies, etc.
  • Spot trends & suggest methods for improving how results are achieved, packaged & communicated to clients
  • Contribute to new business as relevant client inquiries arise
  • Participate in brainstorms & work across teams to lend a hand or creative concept, as needed
  • Deliver client coverage through digital & broadcast, consumer & business media
  • Secure multiple pieces of press coverage for clients monthly, through announcements, evergreen storytelling, etc.
  • Uncover new storylines across top-tier relevant publications for clients
  • Develop “ beat” relationships with media, using reporters as go-to contacts for the brands under your direction
  • Lead strategist, driver & day-to-day contact for multiple clients
  • Advise clients on strategy and manage expectations by appropriately setting goals, timelines & deliverables
  • Client-lead on accounts, expected to drive client meetings and work directly with clients & their partners
  • Keep Director up to date on client requests, activities, and any other details as needed

 

Qualifications
  • PR Expertise – 5-7+ years in media relations, corporate communications, or public relations
  • Proven leadership, warm reporter relationships
  • Quick, Critical Thinking. Demonstrated ability to absorb new information & draw insightful conclusions on the fly
  • Able to adjust quickly to changing priorities; remain composed and supportive in complex and fast situations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Tactful relationship management. Capable of suggesting why an idea might not be effective or press worthy from a PR perspective, while thinking on one’ s feet to present alternative solutions
  • Culture Bridge – Know about trends, communities, and events before others
  • Organizationally Strong – Plans and delegates in a productive manner, focusing on key priorities
  • Efficient – Able to work quickly without sacrificing work quality
  • Self-starter – Exhilarated by the opportunity to own entire projects and assignments
  • Proactive – Acts & suggests without needing to be explicitly told what to do. Brings fresh ideas and improvement processes to the table
